What is your name, title and the Renaissance hotel that you serve as Navigator?

My name is Dewi Yulfa (people call me Dy).  I am the Loyalty and Guest Experience Manager at Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort.

What’s a Navigator anyway?

As the name suggests, a Navigator is someone who understands and guides the needs of our guests. We cater to our guests' desires for curious, unique, and local experiences that allow them to connect with the essence of the neighborhood.

Our navigators celebrate the culture, ideas, people, and talents of their community, offering personal recommendations on the best things to see and do in their area.

Tell us about a unique shopping experience you send your guests to, and why is it reflective of your local destination?

Pertenunan Setia Cap Cili – Gianyar: This is one of the oldest Balinese weaving factories and a retail shop where you can explore traditional Balinese textiles and participate in weaving workshops.

Aryuna Jewelry in Gianyar: A renowned local silver jewelry designer, Aryuna Jewelry carefully selects designs that showcase local craftsmanship, using traditional Balinese materials and techniques. Visitors can also participate in silver jewelry-making classes.

Galeri Kamasan in Klungkung: Located in Kamasan Village, a traditional painting community in Klungkung, East Bali, Galeri Kamasan offers a collection of exquisite hand-painted products created by a small home industry. The designs are inspired by the Mahabharata, an epic Hindu poem.

What kind of memento would you want a guest to put in their suitcase home that best represents your neighborhood?

Nusa Dua is famous for its stunning beaches, making it the perfect place for colorful beach sarongs and local kites in various shapes and vibrant colors.

Markets and independent boutiques often are perfect reflections of a destination. What’s the most vibrant shopping market or boutique in your neighborhood? …and what’s the diamond in the rough gift you would recommend to find there?

Komang Tri Jewelry. Situated on Mengiat Street, this shop is renowned for its unique jewelry pieces and some of them are made from upcycled materials.

Bali Collections. Located in ITDC Nusa Dua, this shopping complex offers various indigenous items including local designer boutiques. R-FINDS features The Table Runner from Tenun Endek Alam - a stunning example of home décor that brings the rich heritage of Balinese craftsmanship and traditional Balinese weaving technique to your home.

The R Shop is much more than the world’s most diverse hotel gift shop. What is your favorite item that you curated for it and the story behind it?

I love the products from Aryuna, especially the jasmine earrings. The jasmine flower, a symbol of beauty and delicacy, has inspired one of their latest earring collections in gold or silver. Each piece is patterned and assembled by hand, and features a detachable back so they can be worn in two different ways – making them a perfect pair for a spontaneous traveler’s any occasion.
